As an architect, you carry the weight of specifying the right products for every project; balancing safety, performance, compliance and client expectations. When you’re managing this responsibility, your construction product suppliers matter more than ever.
That’s where AccuRoof stands out.
By fully committing to the Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI), AccuRoof is helping to change the game for product information reliability and transparency. As well as submitting our own product range for CCPI assessment, our parent company SIG Roofing was the first UK merchant to pass the CCPI Merchant & Distributor (M&D) assessment—a powerful signal that architects can expect better standards of product information when working with them.
Here’s what that means in practice—and why it’s something you should look out for.

What is CCPI?
If you’re not familiar with it yet, the Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI) is an industry initiative developed after the Grenfell Tower tragedy to help drive up standards in product information management and marketing. The CCPI is working to move the industry to a place where product information is clear, accurate, up to date, accessible and unambiguous.
The CCPI has 11 clauses and uses a 5-step assessment process alongside registration and continuous improvement responsibilities which apply to everyone who makes, markets or sells construction products. The goal? To support greater confidence in product information and marketing and drive continuous improvement.
CCPI is already supported by government regulators, the Construction Leadership Council, Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS), and industry bodies like RIBA, which has committed to integrating CCPI into future guidance for its members.
You can read more about how support for CCPI is growing in this article.
There are three ways in which AccuRoof is following a continual improvement process to implement the CCPI and offer accurate product information.
1. AccuRoof – CCPI assessed system
Alongside providing roofing specification support for a range of products, AccuRoof has its own brand products. The first of these, the SIGnature Ultra Protect range, has recently receive the CCPI Assessed Product Mark. This mark confirms that the range has been independently assessed to meet the Manufacturer Code.
2. SIG Roofing: First to Be CCPI Assessed as a Merchant
Our parent company SIG Roofing didn’t just adopt CCPI – they helped lead the charge.
In August 2024 they became the first UK merchant and distributor to achieve a successful CCPI Merchant and Distributor assessment. That means their business has been independently assessed to:
- Have the right systems in place to manage product information.
- Make sure that data is clear, current and consistent with manufacturer intent.
- Reproduce and update supplier information without introducing errors or ambiguity.
- Support and promote CCPI principles across their supply chain.
As Chris Lodge, Managing Director of SIG Roofing, said:
“The whole business has worked hard to put processes and training in place to pass this assessment. It’s a great initiative that will increase customer confidence in the product information we supply.”
And importantly: CCPI is now built into SIG Roofing’s Continuous Improvement Plan: not a one-off badge, but a long-term commitment.
As the specification wing of SIG Roofing, AccuRoof is fully behind the CCPI process. AccuRoof and other SIG Roofing brands are working to continually improve the information about products available on our websites, including the descriptions of products and technical advice, to meet the CCPI for clarity, accuracy, and accessibility and we aim that the information is always up to date.
3. SIG Assured
As a distributor SIG Roofing works proactively with manufacturers with the aim of accurately representing their products. Through our compliance specialists at SIG Assured, set up thirteen years ago, products have been assessed against current regulatory requirements.
In addition to product compliance, SIG Assured assesses suppliers’ management systems, ethical, environmental and sustainability practices, and completes on site audits. This makes it possible for SIG companies to supply products and services of the highest standards.
What This Means for Architects
If you’re specifying roofing products, this level of assessment and transparency is valuable. Here’s how it benefits you directly.
- Greater confidence in Product Information: When you involve AccuRoof from an early stage in your specification process you can have greater confidence in the product information generally, and you can if you wish also choose CCPI assessed products.
- Reduced Risk of Errors: Product data that gets distorted as it passes through distributors is a known issue in the industry. SIG Roofing’s Merchant and Distributor CCPI assessment helps to give greater confidence that this risk is actively managed and minimised.
- Support for Your Legal Responsibilities: As an architect, particularly if you’re working on Higher-Risk Buildings (HRBs), you now have formal responsibilities under the Building Safety Act 2022. That includes working with reliable, traceable information throughout your designs and specifications. CCPI can help to support your due diligence at Gateways 2 and 3, helping to document product choices.
- More Reliable Specification: Knowing that your supplier is CCPI assessed saves time. The product information is already aligned with the Code.
By seeking CCPI assessments for their products, by being part of a CCPI Assessed Merchant and Distributor, and finally by participating in SIG Assured, AccuRoof provides architects with greater confidence in product information throughout your project.
Look out for CCPI when specifying
The CCPI is transforming how product information is managed in construction, and SIG Roofing and AccuRoof are at the front of the queue. For architects, that means greater confidence when specifying products and systems.
So next time you’re reviewing roofing options, look for the CCPI Assessed Mark, and choose a supplier who’s committed to helping you build smarter, and with more confidence.
