Keith Johnson has worked in the roofing market since 1995, during which time he has worked for a number of roofing product manufacturers. In February 2026, he joined the team at AccuRoof, as Specification Manager covering the Yorkshire & Humberside region.
Keith was born in Bradford and now lives in Huddersfield. He has worked in roofing product sales across the North-East for over thirty years. He began his working life at a ceramic tile showroom in Bradford and moved into the roofing industry in 1995, taking a role at Chesterfelt Ltd., a bituminous waterproofing membrane manufacturer based in Chesterfield. He has worked in flat roofing ever since, at IKO, BMI, Superglass and Icopal, all in technical roofing sales.
At AccuRoof, Keith now works with local authorities, contractors and architects, largely surveying roofs for refurbishment projects in the region. His days are spent on rooftops, inspecting and surveying roof damage and recommending product solutions through a specification document.
Working within SIG Roofing, the largest roofing merchant in the UK, allows him to offer simply the best unbiased advice to his customers, rather than being tied to one manufacturer. Keith sees that as a great advantage. This, alongside the technical support he receives from AccuRoof colleagues on legislative compliance, allows him to specify roofing products with increased confidence.
His roofing experience in the area has built a large network of contacts who trust his advice, so he receives many inbound calls seeking his assistance with a failing commercial roof. As he specialises in refurbishment projects, his assistance is often urgently required to address a roof problem, and he visits with his ladders and tools to assess it.
Last word from Keith: “Like many in the industry, I didn’t choose to work in roofing on the advice of a school’s careers officer. I simply took an opportunity and have enjoyed the ride ever since. The industry is full of genuine people, and I have made friends with many over the years, from colleagues to customers alike. Thirty years on, I’m still enjoying it, and on reflection, I’m proud to have ensured that hundreds of projects have made the right roofing product choices over the years.”

Keith started playing the trumpet as a child and played many times, pre-match, at the Bradford Bull stadium and for England Rugby League matches.
