Working at Height

Falls from height are the single largest cause of workplace death and one of the main causes of serious injury: in 2022/23 there were 40 fatal accidents and thousands of major injuries. Construction continues to account for the greatest number of workers killed in fatal accidents each year.

The Work at Height Regulations 2005 consolidated previous UK and European legislation with the specific intention of reducing the risk of falling. The regulations require detailed risk assessments to determine the extent of the safety measures required to prevent falls or injuries and apply to all work at height, where there is a risk of fall that can cause injury.

Through our suppliers, we can provide a complete assessment and recommend a product specification that meets the regulations and reduces the risk, including:

  • Personal protective equipment
  • Line running systems
  • Man anchor systems
  • Handrails and roof-edge guardrails
  • Non-slip walkways and matting
  • Safety netting
  • Access towers and ladders
