Quality products, expertly installed

AccuRoof’s ACIS registered installer scheme provides for your roof to be installed by specialist roofing contractors who have demonstrated knowledge of the systems they install and a proven record of installing them well.

You know your school is in good hands with ACIS roofing contractors, as the scheme ensures:

  • The contractor develops and maintains skills,
  • Designers can rely on AccuRoof expertise, and
  • School business managers know that their roof has been installed by a competent business.

Roofing contractors must be trained before we will supply roofing products to them. But it doesn’t stop there – they enter a process of on-going support, training and evaluation to ensure their work is consistently of a high standard.

AccuRoof also maintains a network of experienced area field technicians who provide advice and support, working with contractors to ensure that installations conform with the product requirements and regulations.

Flat roofing systems for schools

Explore the range of systems available for flat roof replacement.

Exclusive to AccuRoof, the SIGnature range is a torch-applied built-up roofing system for flat roofs which is robust, tried and tested. Intended for both new work and overlay projects and offering different warranty packages, the SIGnature range will ensure that we can tailor the system to your requirements.

Liquid Waterproofing systems are particularly useful in situations where the roof is complex with many penetrations which would require complex detailing, or where it is necessary to avoid ‘hot works’. Liquids are relatively quick and simple to apply compared to membrane waterproofing, especially when there is intricate detailing, Some can be applied in damp conditions. Some liquid waterproofing systems carry an odour and can be unpleasant to use; others have few or no volatile compounds and can even be applied when the building is in use.

A range of waterproofing membranes are available which are cost effective compared to other waterproofing, and reliable when properly installed. Some products are made in the UK; some are fully recyclable, and some can be applied over other membranes.

Through our network we are also able to design and supply pitched roofs in tiles, slates and metal roofing systems.

All our roofing systems are designed to incorporate effective drainage, resolve existing issues with your roof and feature replacement rooflights, safe access systems and other ancillaries as appropriate.

Assistance with government funding bids

We’ve developed a strong and effective bid application process for the Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) for the replacement or refurbishment of flat and pitched roof areas. This funding is available to single academy trusts, small Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs) and sixth form colleges.

Our network of experienced technical managers undertakes a full and comprehensive roof survey, which will include condition report, specifications, photographic evidence (internally as well as externally), appropriate drawings and initial costings.

Our educational chartered surveyors then discuss the process with the school and construct a proposal to the CIF that will secure funding for any specific works.

These services are provided at no cost to the school.

Should the bids be successful, the surveyors then place the works out to tender.

Estate management strategy

For a Multi Academy Trust (MAT) and other clients, our surveys also lead to an estate management strategy for your roofs looking at repairs, replacement and planned maintenance.  Some MAT’s (with over 3000 pupils) will receive allocated funding for building maintenance. For these trusts, we provide ongoing advice and support on how to make your funds go further, and our surveyors are available to advise on the whole of your estate. We also have experience incorporating measures to lower carbon emissions.

Why is your service free?

If we have carried out a pre-inspection and are satisfied that we can help you, we provide our service for free. This is because we are confident in ensuring funding for the project. It also allows us to manage the roof design process, the on-site process, and the product selection. This means that we can provide our customers with genuine, quality warranties.

How it works

A no obligation pre-inspection will quickly determine any issues on your roof (or if no work is required). All surveys are undertaken with minimal disruption to the school day.

Fully experienced technical managers complete a comprehensive roof survey and recommendations to include condition reports, specifications, photographic evidence (internally and externally), appropriate drawings and initial costings.

The survey and recommendations are forwarded to our educational surveyors, who consult with the school to discuss the process and to construct a CIF proposal to apply for funding for the work required.

Surveyors and AccuRoof continue to consult with the school, compile the comprehensive funding proposal and help the school make the submission for funding if appropriate.

We provide detailed design drawings and produce specifications, including for parapets, upstands, apertures, etc.

AccuRoof offer independent advice and will only specify the correct product for each application. We have access to a full portfolio of roofing products and registered contractors to install them properly.

Should the bids be successful, the surveyors then place the works out to tender to our ACIS network of registered installers.

Once tenders are received, they will be fully evaluated, and discussions will be held with the school to agree on the winning contractor. This could include meeting/interviews with the contractor and the school to ensure all parties work well together and understand how the works will progress.

AccuRoof will conduct inspections throughout the project. On completion of the works, we shall undertake a final inspection.

On completion of final inspection and hand-over of the roof, AccuRoof issues the relevant warranties to the school for your records and provide advice and assistance on maintenance.
